Chapter 3

"Hurry, hurry, hurry!"

Compared to the agitation of the people below, Song Jixing was very calm.

She looked up at the steel wire tied around her body, somehow already halfway loosened, and the remaining half didn't look too secure either.

A few Levya masters were scared out of their wits.

Song Jixing was now three to four meters off the ground. If she fell down and got hurt, they would be held undoubtedly responsible.

"Be careful, take it slow, don't rush."

With a swishing sound, the remaining steel wire broke too.

"Ahhhhhhh!"

The timid girl screamed in fright.

Song Jixing had spent many years in the cultivation world and was very knowledgeable about flying.

The moment she felt herself falling, Song Jixing had already decided on the landing position to best protect her head and spine.

She could not act stupidly, nor could she become paralyzed.

A broken leg was but a small problem!

The next second, she suddenly felt herself falling into a cold embrace, and there was a familiar, obscure fragrance.

"Senior sister! Are you alright?!" A clear, clean, slightly delighted male voice rang out.

Song Jixing looked at the man holding her, a whole head taller than her.

Her junior brother.

He was taken in by her master when Song Jixing was sixty-three.

Song Jixing calmly looked over her junior brother and lightly opened her rosy lips, "Put me down."

Upon hearing this, Feng Juechen immediately set his senior sister down. His bright and spirited dark eyes looked around at the surrounding people.

Like an obedient little puppy waiting on standby for its owner’s command.

"Song Jixing, are you alright?!"

"Did you get hurt anywhere?!"

"Should we take you to the hospital?!"

Everyone crowded around, talking over one another with concern for Song Jixing. If something happened to this actress, it would be a huge deal for the entire crew.

"I'm fine, he saved me," Song Jixing said, looking at Feng Juechen.

The director turned around and suddenly noticed the man standing beside Song Jixing.

The director's full attention had previously been on Song Jixing just now, so scared that his heart nearly stopped beating, and hadn't noticed the man at all.

Now examining the man in front of him closely.

He wore an exquisite, tailored costume, the patterns seemed to be embroidered with gold and silver threads, magnificent and domineering yet simple and elegant. One look and you know it wasn’t cheap.

Compared to their crew’s clothing, it was like plastic props meeting Forbidden City antiques: the contrast was stark.

Then the director looked at the face of this unfamiliar man!

Fair as snow, lips like cinnabar, a pair of slender eyebrows matched with those clear and penetrating eyes, like the warm and transparent spring breeze in February, blowing away the ice and snow of winter.

It moved the heart and evoked tenderness in all who laid eyes on him.

Seeing everyone’s reaction, Song Jixing thought to herself that things had taken a bad turn.

Her junior brother was skilled in bewitching people’s hearts, and paired with that face of his that could confuse anyone!

He worked in the judicial hall, skilled at interrogating criminals.

"Director!" Song Jixing called out.

Everyone returned to their senses.

"Wha...What is it?" the director retracted his gaze from Feng Juechen and asked.

He was still wondering which crew this Feng Juechen was from.

How come he’s never heard of any announcements about him? He was hidden real deep!

Looking like that, he must be the lead of some big production.

"I'm not feeling well," Song Jixing said weakly, clutching her chest. "Can I go back to rest for a bit?"

"Go quickly, go rest! Do you need me to take you to the hospital for a checkup?" the director asked with concern.

If something happened to Song Jixing, he would be implicated.

"No need, I can go home by myself," Song Jixing declined.

"Then this gentleman, may I ask for your name? Thank you for saving our crew's actress. Another day, I will treat you to a meal to show my gratitude," the director turned to ask, reaching out his hand for a handshake.

Feng Juechen smiled faintly and reached out his left hand.

The director had extended his right hand, and was startled for half a second by Feng Juechen's gesture before immediately extending his left hand to shake.

The director thought that this actor deliberately made things difficult for him. However, he could understand it: young people nowadays are bound to have some temper.

Perhaps being the senior sister’s junior brother, seeing his senior sister almost falling down must have angered him a bit.

On top of that, this actor was handsome with deep looks, and definitely an up-and-coming big actor judging from what production he was currently working on.

No big deal, he could yield a little ground. More connections meant more opportunities.

Feng Juechen was more surprised at the intimacy of exchanging a palm-to-palm greeting here. He had acted rashly just now.

Under everyone’s gaze, Song Jixing pulled her disciple into the makeup room next door.

“Sit here, don’t wander around, I’ll be right back.” Song Jixing ordered.

“Okay, Senior Sister,” Feng Juechen replied obediently, resting his hands on his lap.

Song Jixing swiftly removed the wig and makeup off her face, then went to the changing room to take off her cheap costume.

The two generations of Song Jixing looked exactly the same.

Song Jixing was born charming and alluring. Even in a crowd of beauties she would stand out. Her eyes were especially pretty, as if hiding a pair of stars inside.

However, she seldom smiled. Most times there would only be a slight upturn of her lips, giving others the impression that she was aloof and cold.

The stars were beautiful, yet unreachable.

In the cultivation world, she was the rather renowned beautiful senior sister of her sect.

But here, she was just an 18th-rate nobody that lived paycheck to paycheck.

Feng Juechen was able to recognize his Senior Sister at first sight, also because of her looks.

When Song Jixing pushed the door open to enter, she discovered a group of people, males and females, surrounding her junior brother.

"Handsome, can I get your autograph?"

"Handsome, can I take a picture with you? What's your weibo username, can I follow you there?"

"Handsome, which crew are you from?"

Everyone bombarded Feng Juechen with questions.

Trapped amidst the crowd, Feng Juechen looked at the people innocently and blankly, gently shaking his head.

Seeing Song Jixing walk in, Feng Juechen immediately stood up and walked over with a smile, "Senior Sister, you're back!"

Breaking the hearts of his starstruck pursuers.

"Sister Song!"

"Sister Song you're here!"

Everyone greeted Song Jixing enthusiastically.

After that accident earlier, Song Jixing's name had been remembered by the entire crew. Or possibly because of Feng Juechen.

"You guys work on, I gotta run first," Song Jixing bid everyone goodbye with a smile.

Then grabbed Feng Juechen's hand and swiftly fled the studio.

Outside the studio gates, Song Jixing flagged down a cab and brought Feng Juechen onboard.

The driver glanced at the two passengers of vastly different attire in his rearview mirror, unsurprised by the sight.
